Rick’s Fast Art Takeaway Day 21: Black Fries Day – #MakingWays #CityOfMakers #RicksFastArt

It’s the last day of Rick’s Fast Art Takeaway in Orchard Square, but Rick’s will endure. Rick’s Fast Art Takeaway Pop-Up Café with be at Cupola Gallery in Hillsborough, Sheffield on 3rd & 10th December 12-4pm as part of their current exhibition “Unique Beauty”.

How appropriate!

I got some drinks an nibbles in case I had a last minute rush. There was no rush but I did have a few visitors and some very long conversations. As I said at the start, I’ve never done this and I really didn’t know how to do it or what would happen, but you put yourself in the way of fate and wait to see if it carries you or crushes you.

Thanks Seiko.

Thanks John.

Fabulous unpaid interns Jackie & Daisy.

Thanks Daisy, topped with a fried egg and black fries.

Thanks Jackie, the only stuffed crust spin pizza so far.

Thanks Dominic.

Carried mostly, I think, but with a few bumps and scrapes.

There will be a very long tail on this project so stay tuned for more reveals. One thing I never got around to was the more philosophical discussions based upon my reading matter, mainly because I was so busy and exhausted by the actual making of stuff, I didn’t have the time or energy to read any of the books I needed to read in order to have those conversations.

I got a visit from Kate Dore, director of Yorkshire Artspace Society and (unless I am mistaken) the only member of Sheffield’s Culture Consortium to visit in the 21 days I’ve been here.

Post mortem to follow…
