Rick’s Fast Art Takeaway Day 18: The FInal Countdown – #MakingWays #CityOfMakers #RicksFastArt

This is the final week of Rick’s Fast Art Takeaway in Orchard Square and I’m getting ramped up for the last big push on the forthcoming Black Friday. Fortunately only two visitors today (in the good way) because it gave me plenty of time to prep.

Stocking up on Turner Fries.

A journalist from the Sheffield Star called in, not to see me, but to canvass opinions about the Orchard Square clock and its animated figures (inactive for many years), but I gave him a hard sell in exchange for my insight. I talked to him for quite a while and I recommended he talk to the other businesses in the building, but I saw him leaving only a few minutes later. I think the others didn’t abuse his trust as much as I did.

Late on in the day, it was good to see Michael Borkowsky, the previous artist-in-residence who has been very busy since, showing in Sheffield Cathedral and Surface Gallery in Nottingham. He bought beans on toast.

Michael Borkowsky.

I’m close to the end of the residency now and I’m starting to think about my exit strategy. I’ve accumulated a lot of stuff here and I need to start taking stuff off-site.
