Rick’s Fast Art Takeaway is a temporary shop in Orchard Square, Sheffield, selling “fast art” made from waste materials. The art is in the form of plates of mock food and pizzas made from cardboard and paint. Fast art can be bought ready-to-go or can be made while-u-wait. (More photos below).
Rick’s Fast Art Takeaway is a project by Sheffield artist Richard Bolam and is located in Workshop 14 on the first floor, next to Waterstones and above Costa. Open 10-5pm Mondays, 2-7pm Tuesdays & 10-5pm Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Drop in anytime for a free mini workshop for children where you can make your own paint pizza and choose your own toppings, or come for a chat with Richard about the ideas behind the project and if you bring a takeaway food wrapper, he will teach you how to make an origami butterfly. All takings from the sale of fast art is donated to the Archer Project, a local charity supporting homeless & vulnerable people in Sheffield.
